Live with Regis and Kelly

Brief weight history: Throughout my life I have maintained about the same weight with plus and minus changes over the years. I was in the best shape of my life in high school and college when I was involved in cheerleading and was active nearly every day. I worked out 4-5 days a week and would love to get back into that habit. The most I ever weighed was 127lbs, however that is not my ideal weight. I gain weight very quickly, but am able to lose it if put my mind to it.

Overall health profile: I maintain a healthy diet and am very cautious of my food intake. I love to eat vegetables, fruits, salads, and try to stay away from carbs like pastas and pizza. I don't have any medical concerns and never had high cholesterol. Although I don't work out as often as I would like, I still get to the gym at least 2-3 times per week.

Biggest pitfall: My biggest pitfall is my habit of eating out a lot (especially at Mexican restaurants) and not knowing what to choose on the menu. I am a sweet junkie; however I try to stick to the 100 calorie packs and frozen ice cream sundae's by weight watchers to satisfy my sweet tooth. I cannot go to bed at night without something sweet and would love to stop that habit. Over the last few months I have become bored of the gym. I want to learn how to run and I want to enjoy running. After running for a half hour on the treadmill I have to get off due to boredom. Lately, I always find an excuse NOT to go to the gym. If I miss a class at the gym, I will skip the day because I don't like working out on my own. I find it easier when someone is instructing me what to do as opposed to me doing my own thing at the gym solo.

Weight goal: I would love to weigh anywhere from 110 -112lbs. I think for my height, that is the weight that fits me best. I don't have much to lose, but always find it difficult to lose just 5-10lbs and would love to learn the right way to do it and keep it off for the rest of my life! I want to be bikini ready for the summer!!!

Health/fitness goal: My main goal is to learn how to exercise on my own and to tone my overall body. I want to be more energetic and less flabby. I am in my best friends wedding in March, and don't want to worry about my arms looking too flabby in my dress. That is one part of my body I am extremely self conscious about and would love to tone by March 15th!

Brief weight history: I usually weigh around 128 except during 2004 - 2005 I went up to 140. I lost 11 pounds just before the Self Challenge by going on the South Beach Diet with no exercising. As a matter of fact growing up I was never encouraged to exercise….at home or at school. So exercising was never thought as an option.
Then I did the Self Challenge. I started dieting/exercising and lost almost 10 pounds. Once the Challenge was over I thought I could do it on my own. Just by watching what I ate. It didn't work. I noticed the pounds coming back. Even though I really wasn't eating more food!
So I decided to bite the bullet instead of food and join Reebok and my weight started to go down. I found I could eat more and still be the same size. And I was feeling better because I was exercising.

Overall health profile: My general health is good. And my weight is really not my problem. It's my cholesterol, it is 245 - HDL is 58 but my LDL is 173 (at the end of the Self Challenge it was 202 HDL/57 & LDL/132. Also thanks to the last Self Challenge I started taking vitamins…again something I never did when I was younger.

Biggest pitfall: SWEETS!!!!!! and bread

Weight goal: 120 - 125

Health/fitness goal: Lowering my cholesterol and to gain definition and muscle tone. Especially in my stomach. I want to be core fit. I want to maintain a healthy regimen for the rest of my life and control my sweet tooth. I do have to say, now that I'm getting older, I have more aches and pains - lower back and just diagnosed with (2) torn cartilage in my knee. It's funny now that I want to exercise there are so many exercises I can't do because it starts up my knee. But since it's not painful (if I'm careful) I'm hoping I will not have to go through the operation.

Brief weight history: I have always stayed around the same weight. I do not over eat. I generally eat what I want because I can have a bite of something (like a French fry) without wanting to consume the whole plate. Since the last fitness challenge I learned that I am allergic to wheat. I don't have celiac, but I get a rash from wheat products. That has made eating a real challenge. I cannot have bread, pasta, cookies, cake, beer, pretzels, soy sauce etc! In the beginning this was a good thing...but I have found other things to replace those items (rice, potatoes, chocolate, ice cream...all in moderation)

Brief overall health profile: I am pretty healthy though I am due to have my yearly physical in the next two weeks. I will find out about my cholesterol situation (which has been on the high side...but not to the point where I need medication ...yet). I do not want to get to that point.

Biggest pitfall: My biggest pitfall has been staying interested at the gym. I felt so great during and after the fitness challenge, but staying interested in the gym has been a challenge, eventually I stopped going. I found that I prefer to be outside playing tennis (I played about 12 hours every week during the summer) and now that the winter is here I snowboard. But I know it is not enough. I would love to learn how to run so that I can at least keep part of my workout outside of the gym. My other pitfall has been renovating my apt: My husband and I are renting a studio apt while our place is under construction and the place we are renting is difficult to cook in so we have been ordering in food every night for the past 5 months!

Weight goal: Like last time I am not looking for a dramatic weight loss. I am looking to work on getting my body fat down and toning up.

Health/fitness goal: lower body fat and cholesterol, find a way to love going to the gym, or find an outdoor exercise I can do alone for life.
